There is not a bad seat in the house. If you have a hard time taking the steep incline, I would suggest the grass seats. They have chairs you can rent & the facilities are clean and clearly marked. The parking lot was easy to get in & out of & the acoustics were spot on. If you needed to leave early, you could still hear the music out in the parking lot. The food was good & beverages were fairly priced. I would recommend this venue for a concert any day.

What an absolutely amazing outdoor theater this is. It was our first time being here but not our last, as a Minnesotan and music lover I am very jealous. We purchased actual seats but ended up sitting in the grass area about half way up the hill instead, it was a beautiful night and the sound was perfect and we could see just fine. Can't wait to come back for another show!

No matter what the weather, as long as you don't go with Chris Patarazzi You are in for a treat. It is a natural Amphitheater made by a Glacier. The acoustics are out of this world.
It is just beautiful and spacious. Some of the best lawn seating anywhere. I highly recommend you to go see an event there. It's worth the drive from Chicago.

The Fred again.. show was 5/5, venue 3/5. Sound system could be better, I also got my tire punctured by the sharp gravel in the parking lot. This place is kind of in the middle of nowhere too so we had to drive slow til we found a gas station to fill up my run flats. Drinks were outrageous ($22 for a beer, $26 for a cocktail). Super long lines, waited over 40 mins for a drink. Pitch black when trying to walk through the lawn to our section in the 200s. Still had an amazing time at the show though, especially when Fred appeared out of nowhere at a mini stage 10 feet away from our seats!! ❤️

The parking situation for premium early parking was definitely annoying. The passes to purchase noted "for tailgating" & then the people directing cars hardly gave us any space between cars - when asked why, she told us that they weren't even supposed to give us any space for tailgating. If you're purchasing premium for tailgating, just purchase the regular passes, she told us it was the same thing. ?‍♀️ Once we got into the concert venue, everyone else was friendly & we got to sit pretty much anywhere on the lawn, which was great for the price of the tickets!

The venue is gorgeous! The police present was a bit overwhelming, I get wanting to keep people safe but it’s perhaps a bit overkill to have an entire police station set up for a hippie concert ‍♀️ maybe that’s just me lol.

Aside from that, only complaint is the food being pretty subpar but can’t expect too much from a snack bar, I suppose.

DMB was fantastic! The venue was clean, plenty of restrooms and vending. The center screen over the stage had the red and green AV inputs backwards so the colors were off which was mildly annoying for such an easy fix. But the sound and experience was excellent!

Other than the hill being an absolute trek in your mid-30’s, Alpine Valley is a GREAT AMPHITHEATER to see a concert, especially Dave Matthews Band. We go every year on the Alpine/Summerfest rotation. Great music and weather under the stars. Hard to imagine a better combination. At the corner of grey street and the end of the world.
