My stay here was excellent. Upon check-in I was offered complimentary wine or champagne. My room was clean and had a great view. All of the employees I encountered throughout my stay were friendly. The pool area was very nice and there was a small private “beach” area. However, the “beach” is very small and is really just an area to sit and watch the bay. The location is a little far from downtown, but it is convenient if you have to go to the airport. Overall, I recommend staying at this hotel.

Great food. Great staff... and one of the best views I've ever had of the water in the Tampa area at a hotel.

Every issue we had was rectified quickly by the staff.

We were particularly impressed by Kat at the hotel restaurant. She was super kind, appreciative and really made us feel welcome.

Looking forward to staying here again soon.

The hotel, room, and staff were fantastic, and the rooftop restaurant served delicious food. However, the parking situation significantly impacted my stay. The elevator in the parking lot was out of service, and it was clear this wasn’t a recent issue—weathered “out of service” stickers were peeling off. As someone who prefers self-parking, this meant making two trips if I had anything I couldn’t carry down the stairs. During my multi-day stay, there was no visible effort to repair the elevator, which was frustrating.

To make matters worse, the only ramp available for pedestrians in the self-parking lot was the vehicle ramp, forcing you to navigate around oncoming traffic—a safety concern. I noticed other families struggling with the same issue.

Additionally, I encountered an unsettling experience with valet services. Without my knowledge or consent, they added a $50 gratuity to my bill. If I hadn’t requested an itemized receipt, I would never have known about this unauthorized charge.

Lastly, the parking system itself was inconvenient. The QR code for parking access expired every two days, requiring constant renewal—a process that quickly became a hassle. These parking-related issues detracted significantly from an otherwise great stay.

The CURRENT Hotel is such a stunning spot for weddings! I had the pleasure of doing hair and makeup for a bridal party here, and the modern, chic vibe of the hotel set the tone for an unforgettable day. The suites are bright and spacious—perfect for getting ready—and the views of the water added a magical touch to the whole experience. Highly recommend!

I can’t express enough how fantastic our experience was at The Current Hotel in Tampa, FL. As a vendor in the Wedding industry, we value not only a beautiful property but the team we will essentially work alongside with to ensure the day is smooth and perfect for our clients.
What truly made our experience unforgettable was the incredible staff. They were attentive, professional, and genuinely cared about making the Couple’s day perfect. Starting with Allison Hlavac who is a super star in the Event Management/sales area. From the planning meetings to the wedding day coordination, every detail was handled with precision and warmth. Hector Almaguer who key on wedding day! He lead the ‘day of’ team. His professionalism, attention to detail, and literally the fact that anything we needed, he was right there to accommodate as amazing. Overall:: If you want to pay more for less then book this hotel! You won’t get the top tier Marriott customer service experience and you may be discriminated against. If you read the reviews and are on the fence about booking… DON’T…. Find another hotel! I could’ve saved myself a headache and wasted time at this property.

My detailed review::
I read the reviews about discrimination, pre-judgement, and rude employees before I booked, but I like to give hotels with mixed reviews a fair chance. I think this is one of the worst Marriott properties that I’ve been to. The best part of my short experience was the valet guys. They were 10/10… I didn’t even use valet parking. They assisted me however they could without hesitation and with a positive attitude.
The lady at the front desk was very short with me and treated me differently than she treated other guests that approached the desk to check in. They gave me a 3 hour window of when my room would be ready. I asked why they didn’t inform me in advance that my check in time listed on my reservation couldn’t be honored. She told me I should’ve called because that’s what most guests do. I told her this was my first time having this experiencing at a Marriott hotel. Anyways, I asked for a place to finish up some work and she sent me to locked conference rooms ?. I attempted to charge my laptop at the “work station” near the bar, but none of the outlets worked. I then proceeded to the computer room where I confirmed that this isn’t the hotel for me. I waited almost 2 hours before I asked them to cancel my reservation. Honestly, it was the best decision I made that day. I went to another Marriott property that truly gave the Marriott experience!

Absolutely Loved my stay at this Hotel. It’s is a perfect location and the view of the Tampa Bay is amazingggggg. They have a rooftop Mexican restaurant that I really enjoyed, but to be honest breakfast at the restaurant downstairs was my favorite . Great scenery for dinner or even lunch. I came here for a concert and the perfect touch was that all the staff dressed in attire to celebrate guest who were there for the event. Will definitely star here again.
