I just walked across the outdoor mall from Barnes & Noble looking for a place to eat with my daughter. I didn't know this was an improv place. The ambience was spot on and the food was AMAZING! THOSE SHORT RIB TACOS WERE SOMETHING ELSE!

I was super surprised and very happy at the quality of the singing and the friendliness of the wait staff and the cleanliness of the entire establishment.

Went to see Marlon Waynes! Hands down the best live comedy show. I had to sneak a picture. Awesome vibe, very clean, and Chelsea is the best server! Request Chelsea ?

Wine didn't taste like watered down and not rich like the malbec ordered. Chicken wings weren't cooked to perfection. Seats were too close and uncomfortable. Room temp was nice, stage lighting was good, mic volume was appropriate. Easy in and out of the venue

I totally understand the two-drink minimum if all you are doing is having drinks. Totally valid. ALSO, totally valid to charge your "bottomless" non-alcoholic drink prices IF only having drinks. But for two people who are sober and cannot purchase / drink alcohol, this is totally excessive in addition to us purchasing food. Food should absolute count. I'm sure the servers probably tack it on since if the bill is higher, in theory, their tips will be higher as well. But this was extremely dissatisfying. Again, especially since we do not drink alcohol. Feels like we are being punished. We didn't ask for bottomless and thought the food plus a drink would suffice.

My hubs and I were gifted tickets for a 8 p. m. Showtime on a Friday night. We have been here for shows before and always had a great time . Our last visit really impressed me. When it was time for entry to the show, the staff were ready for us, moved us to our seats, drinks were ordered/received and we had great time. What I enjoyed about the staff was how they were literally ready for us and moved so swiftly. Pleasant, organized and impressive.

Great show on friday with Ginger Billy, the service sucked I ordered food and it took forever to come out. Then on top of it all I tip 15 dollars in cash on a bill of 77dollars and and wrote cash in the tip area. Then I check my card statement and I was charge an extra 16 dollars on top of my bill. I hope the waiter didn't give himself a tip in for himself. Great place.

Man, we saw Ian Bagg on Thursday night and he was the funniest comic I've ever seen, anywhere! And that's really saying a lot. And the drinks were fairly inexpensive which made for a great night out with my son and his friend.

2/3/24: My sister and I came here for the 2:00 pm Harry Potter themed drag brunch. First time at the Improv and first drag brunch, too. Will we go back? Short answer: no! Nor will we be going to any future FlipPhone drag events, but we will go to another drag show.

Parking: what a freaking nightmare. That alone ensures we will never return to Desert Ridge.

Punctuality: I called ahead of time and was told the doors would open between 1:00 and 1:30 for the 2:00 show time. Arrived about 1:15, was told closer to 1:30. It then became 1:40. Doors did not open until 2:00.

Food & drinks: misleading menu online and overpriced! When we looked at the menu online, it was all for the Copper Blues next door. Everything sounded good and was reasonably priced. BUT WAIT -- upon arrival, the menu was not from Copper Blues and the drink prices were not listed. That should have been our first red flag.

The menus were themed for Harry Potter, which was kinda cool. When I asked our server, Shelby, he did confirm that we did not have to buy alcohol to meet the two-drink minimum. We could go with a bottomless $15 soda. With that, I thought the cocktails would be reasonably priced. WRONG! They were upwards of $17 and not even close to being worth that much.

My sister ordered the croque madame loaded tots and I the lemon ricotta pancakes. The tots were plentiful for sure, but she only ate about half because she said they started to taste off & upset her stomach. When my meal was delivered it was clearly the chocolate chip pancake plate -- and those pancakes were flatter than a dollar bill. Shelby corrected the error and delivered the lemon ricotta pancakes. I wish I had taken pictures so you would see how badly presented the food was and how flat the 'cakes were.

Entertainment: the Queens were all right but 1) I did not realize they would be lip syncing, and 2) I expected more dancing vs just gyrating, with arms all akimbo and legs kicking. Seems they were more interested in just taking your money vs actually performing. Maybe some of them were last-minute add ons to the lineup, or it was a new routine, but jeezy Pete, they were all off on the lip syncing. A toddler could have done better.

Final say: no, we most definitely will never return to the Desert Ridge Improv or attend a FlipPhone event, but the experience has piqued my desire to attend more drag shows.
