OPERS is PATHETIC I called for my retirement information a month ago and it was never sent. I have called several times since and constantly been put on hold, then they never answer the phone or it hangs up on you after the automated system tells you all the operators are busy, or they give you a call back time way after they are closed. This is really great customer service. NOT. If they I could give no stars it would still be too many.

Horrible company nothing but problem they sent me wrong paper a didn’t send right ones 6 days processing two days for a supervisor to call you. Been over a six weeks an still nothing.

Ridiculously long process just to withdraw your own money. I have had my bank account for ten years and have given out my banking information to multiple institutions over that time frame and have never had any issues, until OPERS. Only institution I’ve come across that I’ve given my account and routing number to, clearly and legibly because I was trying to avoid any further delays, and wouldn’t you know it they somehow had my account number wrong. Just seems to be hoop after hoop to jump through.

Talked with OPERS today regarding possible changes in our retirees health care coverage. The representatives we talked with (Ms. Penent and another gentleman) were extremely helpful in answering our questions as well as offering potential solutions. If another option exist for retirement I recommend you go with someone else. This company is extremely extremely slow at everything they do. They put you through so much pointless hassel just to withdraw YOUR own money. I put a request in over a month ago since I no longer work at that position figured I'd use the extra cash for the holidays and I still haven't gotten a response. Anytime you call or chat they just send u the terms and conditions of withdrawals. I have literally never in life waited so long to withdraw MY money from any retirement company. Any other place it's the same week

I've been to the location twice within the past 2 weeks. I had tried unsuccessfully to make an appointment by phone. It takes forever to get through on the phone so I just requested a call back. The call back took so long, I just decided to walk in. I received the call back after I had left the building. Hard to believe it was easier and faster to get help at the downtown Social Security office than OPERS. On a positive note, I have never had a parking issue there and the staff I interacted with were great. I wonder if they need to hire more people. No offense but I feel like getting help was easier before I became a senior citizen.

Customer service is not the greatest, I called today as of 2 minutes ago and was getting cut off. My university did not inform us about being automatically enrolled in a retirement account and the 30 day exemption so I called about receiving a simple return since I’m no longer working as a student. She preceded to tell me I’m not able to receive a refund without asking me if I was employed or not. At the very end she said I could do it on the company website after ranting over and over about the rule and policy. Training on active listening skills would be nice to utilize.

Customer service sucks they made my file sit on a desk for weeks for no reason when they had all the paperwork and I met all the criteria to get my money. Then they decided deposited on a Friday which means I would not get it till Tuesday I had to beg them to do their job by far horrible people, horrible experience.
