Very happy RMH is around here. Is going to the hospital at 3 am fun or ever going to be a 5 star experience? No, but I felt we were in good hands throughout the process. I was there for my young daughter, the staff treated her very well. They were patient, polite, and helpful. She left feeling better a few hours later. She is almost as good as new by the afternoon. Both of my children were born here and I have positive experiences mostly for being in a hospital. If I had to give feedback I wish it were faster and more streamlined. We are not checking into the Ritz Carlton, thankful for RMH and all the awesome staff. Keep up the great job!

On 7.20 my dad was rushed by Ambulance from Keezletown as he'd basically passed out, was short of breath and my sister called 911.
Within no time the staff at RMH had him intubated and medicated while attempting to figure out what exactly happened. The 1st week was intense with us really not knowing what was fully wrong or how he would make it through.
Yet the continual care, commitment and hard work of this staff changed his entire health outlook. He went from being on a paralytic and life support to WALKING in 10 days.
Dr. Holm, TJ and the ENTIRE CCU team were phenomenal. The 2 patients to a nurse ratio in CCU was absolutely beneficial to my Dad's treatment and his return to health. We never had to look for help, never felt out of the loop and always felt heard and respected.
My dad was sent to physical therapy/rehab in just under 3 weeks there and is now scheduled to go home this coming Wednesday. In just under 4 weeks our Dad went from the complete unknown to returning home to his doggies that are anxiously awaiting his return.
Thank you, thank you to everyone there from the kind security at the entrance to each member of the ER AND CCU teams that helped nurse our Dad literally back to life. We brought in donuts and pizza for different shifts and wish we could do so every single day as this caring staff deserves it all!

I sincerely don't understand all these negative ratings! We're here on vacation from near Pittsburgh, and on our first day I needed a trip to the ER for a delayed allergic reaction to my hair dye. Triage was efficient and I was in a room within 10 minutes, every staff member was friendly and helpful, and I was treated (including a liter of fluids) and discharged within 3 hours with meds in hand. Back home, I'd have likely been waiting for a room for at least that long, and probably would be in the hospital for 6-10 hours.

What's more, I forgot my Kindle in the room, and the nurse called before we were out of the parking lot and brought it down to the entrance. I was so grateful because I would have been devastated to lose it!

Honestly, this hospital is clean, currently undergoing upgrades, and has a pleasant workforce keeping it running like a well -oiled machine.

My daughter was seen for a concussion and fracture. Everyone there last night was amazing. This morning I am trying to call for follow up appointments and there is not one ent that will treat for an orbital fracture and I explain that to Juanita the charge nurse. She laughs and tells me that they are wrong. Well, I can’t get an appointment for my kid to be seen and asking for help. Maybe Tuesdays are the best day for her but treating a parent like they are dumb when they are trying to take care of their kid is not very good customer service. Hope she has a better day and treats patients better.

I am very angry with our experience last night at Sentara. Our son was/is experiencing pain that is very similar to appendicitis. We were in the ER for 8 hours, until 3am. They did a CT, and 45 minutes later came in the "doctor" who told us all is well, no appendicitis. We began questioning her, because our 7 year old has been in a lot of pain for the last 24 hours, and we need to understand why. She would shrug her shoulders and say it could be a virus or a stomach bug. She poked around at his belly again, and repeatedly said that CT showed that all is well.

WELL, the next day, today, I ended up going to the hospital to pick up his CT scan. Along with the scan there was a report- which I did not receive the night before. It said that he has several enlarged nodes in the area that hurts. So we asked and asked, but she gave us absolutely no information on the fact that they did in fact see what the issue is. She saw two parents who are worried sick for their child, but chose to not give us information on what is actually going on. It shouldn't be that difficult to get a diagnose.

I’ve had to visit Sentara RMH three times now, and each experience has been more frustrating than the last. The hospital is not properly sanitized, with noticeable dirt and unclean areas throughout the facility. The emergency floor is especially concerning, as there is only one doctor handling all the cases, leading to incredibly long wait times, even for urgent situations. Unfortunately, this is the only hospital in our city, so there aren't many options, but each time I've been here, I’ve left feeling disappointed and worried about the lack of proper care and cleanliness. I truly hope the hospital takes these issues seriously and improves the quality of service for the community.

I really don't understand all the negative reviews, I have never been to RMH and had bad service. I have 2 chronic diseases and although I have to go to UVA to the specialist, RMH did everything they could to get me in at UVA. Over the past 3 years RMH has literally saved my life 4 times, you will never hear me complain about the service I receive now or in the past. My Nephrologist Dr Overby is the best Dr I have ever met, I have been going to him for over 40 years. The whole Nephrology, urology, cardiac, nurses, radiology team and the ER Dr's and nurses and everyone at the treatment center are all amazing. Yes they get backed up in the ER and sometimes has to prioritize the order that you are seen. I have a very severe sickness and I am what they call a very complicated patient and when they know its above their expertise, they get me to UVA as fast as they can. Once again I have never had a bad experience at RMH including the old hospital. It looks to me like most of the negative comments are from people who think they're entitled to get seen first, but every one knows that the ER must prioritize the patients.

Called earlier today and spoke to a scheduler about coming late today for an x-ray. The scheduler told me I could arrive by as late as 6:30 pm because they close at 7:00 pm. Arrived exactly at 6:30 pm and the front and side doors were both locked. If your facility hours are until 7:00 pm, your doors should be open and your staff should be there. Thanks for wasting my time.
Returned a 2nd time and was told by an employee to "take a seat because other patients were ahead of me". Come to find out that the "take a seat" means you sit there forever, in my case about 30 minutes. The MRI appointments continue arriving but after I had arrived, they are scheduled every 15 minutes and take priority, so now you find out your behind 3 more people but arrived before they did, yet the staff does not tell you that this is the situation. The check-in employee then said that appointments can't be scheduled for x-rays, so basically you could sit there for many hours unless there's a no show for an MRI. The check-in employee then started to complain about walk in x-rays to the patient in front of her. Totally have had it at this point, never got my x-ray, and left in complete, annoyed frustration. Very poor communication by staff, inappropriate complaints by an employee to another patient, and poor management and policies sums up this return visit to RMH's Imaging Department.
