I love South this is my 3rd time coming here. I came all the way from New York. The meat is seasoned so well ! My sister had lamb chops the meat was falling off the bone. I had the fried chicken, delicious. The cornbread is always the best starter. We had Carmel ice cream for dessert so rich and fresh. My sister had the sweet potato cheese cake her reaction to the first taste was wow this is so good. We were late for our reservation due to traffic they were understanding and accommodating. The waiter was polite and friendly. The food came out fairly quickly and was hot.

I highly recommend the shows here. My husband took me as as surprise for my bday and I was delighted. To start the atmosphere is very clean and upscale, the service was absolutely amazing shout out to our server Nadia for making it an even better experience! The food was amazing, they ran out of the sea bass but I’ll be back for it! The corn bread was DELICIOUS you must try it. Overall my experience was great and I cannot wait to be back with friends to put them on as well.

Another day at South, our favorite Philly restaurant. Bren was our waitress today. She had a great personality and was an amazing waitress. She was very attentive and made sure we were great. Mike our favorite manager was present today. As always he made sure the customers were enjoying themselves. The team at South is top tier. Everything was GOOD. We ordered gumbo, (2) oxtail pastas, (3) oysters, cornbread, crab toast, lamb chops entree, turkey wing entree with a side of collards. We went for a birthday and the Christmas show on Dec 20th and it was amazing! The band was great! Very talented. The food was also top tier!! The portions were very generous and reheated very well the next day. I am 100% going back and can’t wait to do so. I was slightly confused, cause the email says to get there an hour early but I think it’s so that way people aren’t late. Other than that things where amazing

The ambiance and music were lovely, and our waitress was an absolute sweetheart, but unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. The sea bass lacked flavor, and the mashed potatoes were difficult to enjoy due to large, chewy pieces of potato skin. My husband’s collard greens were decent but unremarkable, while the fried chicken also lacked seasoning. The candied yams and house special lemon drop tasted overwhelmingly of sugar, as did the cornbread, which, though enjoyable in texture, was overly sweet. Overall, the meal felt unbalanced, with too much sweetness and not enough depth of flavor.

This was my first time visiting and I'll definitely go back. We sat in the lounge area, and the atmosphere was very nice and inviting. You could hear live music coming from the show room but it was at a comfortable volume. The food and cocktails we ordered were very good, and the portions were filling.

Omg this food was amazing. The purpose of this this was for me and my boyfriend birthday and restaurant week. Appetizers were amazing we ordered the cornbread, deviled crab toast, chicken gumbo and Mac and cheese. We were literally full off of that. I had a pink sangria and he had raspberry jam these drinks were sooooo cute but flavorful. Now for the main course the food was perfectly served on the table a great portion of food on the plates. The taste was amazing I had the mango salmon and he had the turkey wings. We literally had 3 bites and took it home it was so much and dessert had to be boxed up as well but it was delicious. The atmosphere, the decor, the staff and the vibe was amazing 100%.

Thank you to JAMILAH! What a phenomenal waitress. Your knowledge of the menu, your patience and kindness most certainly made my experience at SOUTH top tier. From start to finish I was thoroughly impressed by this restaurant. The ambience, the food, the drinks, the staff truly knocked it out the park. I will be back again and again!
