Very famous and carrying a long legacy of Music. The stage is graced by legendary singers and stalwarts of industry. The aesthetic has been kept and you can get the old vibe. New generation may not find this very attractive as per their choice. This is a place which promotes Indian culture and music.

Recently attended Padmashri Shankar Madhavan’s Jis live concert at Shanmukhananda Hall. It was a super energetic and entertaining show with both the maestro’s sons singing along side him.
It is one of the oldest auditorium at Sion Mumbai yet it maintains its charm and old world charisma. The upkeep of the place is good. The auditorium is clean and hygienic. The staff is friendly and helpful. The canteen serves a variety of items like Samosa, sandwiches, burgers and tea and coffee both with and without sugar along with soft drinks and water. Parking can be an issue here. A little renovation of the seating area will be good.

A piece of Mumbai Cultural Heritage, well maintained, good sitting arrangement and acoustics. Canteen is a bit chaotic but serves fresh food. Access by car is difficult, but walking from Babasaheb Ambedkar Rd is not difficult. Added attraction is the Gallery of Indian Music stalwarts and collection of various musical instruments serving almost as a mini museum.

During peak hour traffic can be a problem if you are driving down. Else the best thing to do is to take a train to Kings circle and walk till here.

The auditorium is outstanding and pretty large. The sound system is good too. We booked ourselves on the first floor balcony and the visible was good. They do have 2 giant screens. The video reception runs with a lag of a second or two but no reason to complain. I found the seats comfortable too.

They do not allow food, beverages and even water inside the auditorium. They do have a food stall in the ground floor with limited options and the price is definitely higher. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained

Very old yet a nice auditorium. Have attended school annual days and concerts. Only issue is their air-conditioning is too strong.
